We’re looking forward to an appearance at the Greenwich International Early Music Festival 2014 on 14 November at 2.30pm in the Chapel, Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich.
We’ll be playing repertoire rather later than normal for this internationally-renowned festival and exhibition: Beethoven’s own arrangement for Clarinet, Cello and Piano, Op.38 of his ever-popular Septet.
The piano, on this occasion, is a copy by Christopher Barlow of a late 18th-century Viennese instrument by Schantz – owned by Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.
The Trio is one of two items on DeNOTE’s forthcoming CD of chamber arrangements by Beethoven recorded earlier this year. This is a chance to hear it live in the majestic setting of the ORNC Chapel.
Jane Booth (clarinet) – Ruth Alford (cello) – John Irving (fortepiano)
